What does Liberty
mean to you?
In 1986, the renowned artist and activist Keith Haring collaborated with The CityKids Foundation and 1000 young people of NYC to create the monumental ‘CityKids Speak On Liberty’ artwork, a 10 story high, 90ft x 30ft Masterpiece celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.
Keith and the 1,000 young people wrote, drew, and engaged in the artistic expression of what liberty and freedom meant to them.
There is a scaled down replica (25%) of the original artwork hanging at the
at Resolution Studios, 2226 W Walnut St, Chicago 60612
from 16th August to the 22nd August.

Our Story
"Liberty Is Wobbly"
Check out original footage of the Artwork being created in 1986.
"Keith Haring was drawing the outline of the banner that 1000 of us were coming to fill in our thoughts and suddenly we said...

'Yo Keith…. the arm goes the other way !! It's Crooked! Did you make a mistake?'
Keith said 'NA, that's ok…It's not crooked, It's Wobbly because sometimes Liberty is wobbly!'"
Now, more than ever, we need our voices heard as we heal democracy and liberty through our shared stories.
